CTE Tester Liquid Sample Holder

Coefficient of thermal expansion can be measured on liquids, pastes, and gels using this Liquid Sample Holder.  This holder provides the necessary containment vessel for thermal expansion determination with the CTE-360 Tester.  Thermal interface materials (TIMs) that are phase-change-materials (PCMs) used in electronic packaging applications can be effectively tested using this fixture.   Approximately 2.5 cc of liquid to be tested is poured into the containment vial fitted with the valved sealing piston.  The entire holder is then inserted into the test chamber where the coefficients of volumetric and linear thermal expansion are measured.  The glass vials are generally considered disposable although reuse is certainly possible.
